Dr. Frank P. Forwood, Jr.

The Commission acknowledges with sadness the passing of our colleague, Frank Forwood. Frank was a very active participant for many years with ASSR and a former officer in the organization.

Dr. Frank P. Forwood Jr. 84, of Monroe, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007, at St. Francis North Hospital. His funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday evening. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Stewart Forwood of Monroe; children, Victoria Forwood Waits and husband, James, of Charlotte, N.C., Debra Forwood Kerrigan and husband, Bobby, of Monroe, Frank D. Forwood III of Monroe and Mark Stewart Forwood of Swartz; grandchildren, Morgan and Abbey Waits, Trey and Chris Dubose, Melissa McClelland, Heather Gilbreath, Jonathan Forwood, and Brant, Matthew, Zach, and Alex Forwood; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, George Michael Forwood, Walter Harvel Forwood and Fred Nelson Forwood all of Mobile, Ala.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.


Dr. Jack Raymond Sibley

The Commission acknowledges with sadness the passing of our colleague, Jack Sibley. A longtime participant in the annual meetings, Jack has been a strong supporter of the Commission's activities. The following obituary was printed June 10, 2007 in the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Dr. Jack Raymond Sibley, 76, of Denton, TX died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He was born June 17, 1930 in Arnett, OK to Cliff Raymond and Juanita Faye (Stiles) Sibley. He was a graduate of Arnett High School, Arnett, Oklahoma and received his BA and BD from Phillips University in Enid, OK and his Master's and PHD from the University of Chicago. He was married to Norma L. Hanan on January 20, 1949 in Blackwell, OK, and he is a member of the First Christian Church. He has been a Professor in the college of Psychology and Philosophy at Texas Women's University for thirty-six years and received Emeritus Status in 2006.

Dr. Sibley is survived by his wife Norma L. Sibley, of Denton; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cindy Sibley of Denton; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Richard Gunn, of Redmond, WA; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
