SWCRS Professional Conduct and Harassment Policy

The following are guidelines for reporting complaints of professional misconduct and harassment at SWCRS or in connection with business of SBL/AAR/ASOR/ASSR Southwest Region.

The regional branches of the organizations urge anyone who wishes to bring a complaint of professional misconduct or harassment to take it to their discreet organizations’ Professional Conduct Committee (or the equivalent) at the national level. These committees have the resources to adequately process such complaints.

The officers of the regions will support and advise a person who wishes to report an instance of misconduct or harassment, and may offer mediation if this is desired.

We encourage all SBL/AAR/ASOR/ASSR members to familiarize themselves with their organization’s professional conduct policy and procedures:

American Academy of Religion Professional Conduct Policy and Procedures.

American Schools of Oriental Research Professional Conduct Policy.

Society of Biblical Literature Professional Conduct Policy and Professional Conduct Procedures.
